How You Can Help Us

Thank you so much for donating your items to the food pantry. You can drop off all donations during our open hours on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10am-2pm or Saturday from 9am-12:00pm.  Please do not drop off donations in the front office lobby as we are busy serving our clients during open hours.  The back double doors has a sign "Food Donations Accepted". Knock on the door and a volunteer will be in the back room to assist you with your donation.  For large donations email us at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.  Who's Hungry

No one wants to believe hunger is a problem where they live, but the reality is that hunger is in every area no matter how big or small.  In 2009, nearly 1 in 10 Illinois residents received emergency food from a food pantry.  There are so many in our daily lives that go hungry.  Here are the facts you need to know about the hungry people in your area:

 -In 2011, the Crystal Lake Food Pantry served 28,183 people from the Crystal Lake area.

-In 2011, the Crystal Lake Food Pantry handed out 595,328 pounds of food.

-In The Northern Illinois Food Bank is a food distribution center that services the food pantries in the Northwestern Counties of Illinois, including Crystal Lake.

-In The Northern Illinois Food Bank's service area, 107,710 children live in poverty and more than 250,000 children are at-risk of hunger.

-48% of the members of households served by NIFB are children under the age of 18.  8% are children ages 0 to 5 years. 6% are elderly.

-43% of households include at least one employed adult.

-66% of household incomes of those being served are below the official federal poverty level.
